In October 2024, the BBMP made e-khata mandatory for property registrations, mortgages, and other transactions, digitising records previously maintained in manual registers at all 64 assistant revenue offices. This move aims to eliminate the need for in-person visits to the BBMP revenue offices for khata-related services.
