1. Auto fares in Bengaluru may go up in coming weeks, meeting on March 12
   The Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Union (ARDU) and the Adarsh Auto and Taxi Drivers’ Union (AATDU) want the base fare to increase to Rs 40 and the per-kilometre charge to Rs 20.

   The Minister told Legislative Council that milk farmers have been demanding a hike of ₹10 per litre, and that the decision would be taken after a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Of the 332 handcuffed and shackled undocumented Indian immigrants deported from the United States during February, 126 are from Punjab (38 per cent), 110 from Haryana (33 per cent) and 74 from Gujarat (22 per cent). Rest of the 22 (7 per cent) are from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and other states and UTs.

It is pertinent to point out here that 3,042 illegal agents have been identified till June. It is quite mind-boggling, and a sort of converse, that a high number (1,199) of illegal agents happen to be cumulatively from the South Indian states: 498 from Andhra Pradesh, 372 from Tamil Nadu, 206 from Kerala, and 123 from Telangana! Besides, there are 418 agents from Uttar Pradesh, 337 from Maharashtra, 299 from Delhi, 209 from Punjab, 130 from West Bengal, and 450 others.
